New York City's very own MANIK fired onto the electronic music scene in 2011 with releases on Ovum, Poker Flat and Culprit. The Queens native is the quintessential New York DJ; a connoisseur of dance music with an inimitable style that crosses multiple genres. A seasoned crate digger, MANIK spends hours in record shops to find those forgotten records and hidden gems. Now residing in sunny southern California, Chris is also Tastemaker and Educator. Since his electronic beginning, he has also released on abels including B-Pitch Control, Kim Ann Foxman's Firehouse, Huxley's label NIO, Fresh Meat Chicago and he is known for cheeky edits of Janet Jackson and the Beastie Boys.

Keeping up the momentum, his XLR8R exclusive "Summer Edit Series" involving Janet Jackson edit/reworks garnered much acclaim by placing #1 and #10 overall on the XLR8R Top 100 Downloads of 2015. The sounds of MANIK can be found in the crates of the worlds leading underground DJs and tastemakers; Ellen Allien, Steve Bug, DJ Heidi, Steve Lawler, and Josh Wink all being regular supporters.

As a DJ, MANIK's international profile has risen just as quickly. Having played at Panorama Bar Berlin, Womb Tokyo, Fabric London, Revolver Melbourne, Q Nightclub Seattle, and many more throughout the years. This New Yorker continues to bring his unique brand of house and techno, old school and new school, expertly crafted music to the dance-floor.

With a steady stream of music about to hit in 2017, including his highly anticipated new album being released on Ovum, entitled Undergroundknowledge plus new EP's on Firehouse Recordings, 2017/2018 is set to be the artists most complete yet.
