Emerging through the baptism of fire of the Australian metal scene, King Parrot have pillaged their way to international recognition in a short period since 2011. The band's notoriety began with their hell-raising live show, full of energy, ferocity and hilarity confronting and entertaining audiences, raising eyebrows and beer mugs alike. Drawing influence primarily from the thrash, grind, hardcore and punk scenes of the 80's and 90's, a new sound was created fusing those styles and attitudes with a fresh approach that encapsulates their aggression, humour and intensity seamlessly.

The debut album "Bite Your Head Off" was picked up by Candlelight Records in 2013 for worldwide release and the band hasn't looked back since. Five videos from their debut album have been produced including 'Shit on the Liver'; a finalist in the Australian Music Video Awards and the bands take on the legendary horror film The Shining for the track 'Dead End'. These videos have attracted a cult following and further served as an outlet for the bands creativity.

After a solid 12 months on the road solidifying the bands presence in their homeland in 2013, King Parrot were invited to perform at SXSW in Texas in March of 2014. They coupled this with an extensive 45-date North American Headlining tour, which saw them land a worldwide management deal with Extreme Management Group in New York. Since then the band has undertaken 6 North American tours alongside Down, Superjoint, Weedeater, Cattle Decapitation, Orange Goblin and Origin, performed as headliners, as well as appearing at the Housecore Horrorfest in Austin, Texas. The band also was special guest and direct support to Weedeater in Europe in 2015, marking the bands first appearance to that territory to rave reviews. They returned again in 2016 to the European Territory, this time as direct support to Soulfly, performing to sold out crowds in various countries.

King Parrot went on to sign with Housecore Records (North America), Agonia Records (Europe), and EVP/Rocket (Australia) in 2015.

King Parrot's dynamic stage show and music scored them a nomination for the 2015 Metal Hammer Golden God Award in the Best New Band Category.

Their latest album, 'Dead Set', was released Worldwide in May 2015 and was produced by Phil Anselmo at his personal Nodferatu's Lair Studio. The album went on to receive recognition in the form of an ARIA nomination for Best Heavy Metal/Hard Rock album of 2015. The band has started writing the their follow up album to 'Dead Set' which is slated to be released in 2017.

Drawing praise from the likes of Phil Anselmo, Max Cavalera, Chuck Billy and Monte Connor, it's easy to see why King Parrot has made a name for themselves. With a sound and live performance they can uniquely call their own, King Parrot are continuing to work hard towards their bright future.
